The word on the street

A FEW RESULTS FROM THE ONLINE TRAINING “F.I.T.” PROGRAM:1606709_10151833731321428_1183021623_o10612812_289111104630731_5772498392371062582_n10606002_277824682426040_1249266925058985467_n

“I previously was filled with excuses and delusions of self grandeur. “its too cold out”; “I am sore. The healthy thing to do is rest and let my body recover;” “the bed is so warm;” “you killed at the gym today. Eat another slice of pizza and yes of course drink the entire 6 pack of beer along with shots of whiskey. You EARNED it today buddy!”; “You aren’t obese just a bit pudgy.  It’s not like you need to buy a 2nd plane ticket.  Your are NOT one of those people.” “The acid reflux you get every time you tie your shoes, that’s just the enchiladas from last night. no biggie.”

NOW after only 4 weeks I truly understand what NIKE’s Slogan, “Just Do It” means. I have worked out 21 times in the month of January, stuck to nutritional guides in the program, and have not had 1 sip of alcohol. I have fought through the snow and cold. Have fought through body aches, sinus pressures, stuffy noses, runny nose, muscle strains, and sleepless nights. I now understand what both “no excuses” & “Just Do It” actually means. Whether it is simply getting to gym or if on my 9th rep of the 3rd set of a circuit and my brain is screaming “8 reps is plenty.” My body is now stronger and louder and it screams at my brain to, “Just Do It!!!!!”
I am down one hole on my belt and at least 10lbs. I can finally say with confidence that this downward trend of my lbs and body mass will continue.”

“Keri, I am not sure how you could say it because I don’t know if it is the 3L of water, eating clean or the workouts or combination of all but my blood pressure went from 138/89 to 122/76.  I have been measuring my BP at home for a while and 6 months of visits to a cardiologist. Your workout plan and nutrition guidelines are easy to follow. When I am not feeling like working out I just think, “It is just 30 minutes”. Or “just 10 pushups”

I just took my measurements after 6 weeks of Keri Burns FIT program. I am SOOOOOO proud to say that I am down a total of 11.5 inches!!!! I am so grateful for the guidance, support, & encouragement that I’ve received over the past 6 weeks and am very much looking forward to the next 8 weeks with FIT 2!! Thank you Mrs. Burns!! — feeling proud.

I just wanted to give a shout out to Little Miss Muscle Personal Training. I just wrapped up the 6 week online program. I feel great and I am super happy with my results. I learned how to eat better and how to get results with 30 min workouts. Thanks Keri!

I am a 48 year old travel nurse from Ohio and went to work in Reno, NV for three months. I wanted to try to lose weight before my class reunion. I decided to hire a personal trainer and I got Keri! From the first phone call we hit it off and talked for a long time. I knew she was going to be perfect. From the first workout I knew this time it was going to be different ( and I was in trouble!!) She had me doing things I had never done and never thought I could do. I had never done so many lunges in my life! My butt hurt so bad! From lunges to obstacle courses to boxing to box jumping and doing outside workouts, we did it all. She would tell me to do something and I would respond saying “you want me to do what?” She would say “just do it!” My reply then was “it is not going to be pretty!” Pretty was not the goal. Success was the goal. Keri knew what I needed to do, she could adjust the workout on the fly but never, never let me get away with anything. Don’t ever let her hear you say “can’t” There is punishment!

I learned more about myself during the three months with Keri than all the many years prior trying to diet. It got very emotional at times. I learned that I can do so much more than I ever thought I could. Keri does not let you fail but told me I could fail myself. She made it clear that if I did not show up and didn’t do the work that I would go back to the same thing and getting the same results. How bad did I want to change? She always gave me encouragement, got me to think positively, told me good things about myself and was just so determined to see me succeed.

I now use Keri’s name in vain during my workouts to give me incentive to keep going! My success in those three months working with her 2-3 times per week was 28 pounds and 15 1/2 inches lost! I was able to move better, I hurt less, and looked and felt much better physically and mentally! In my opinion, I made the choice to get a trainer and Keri was by far the best I could have ever had! Thank you Keri for helping me get to where I need to be! I’m not there yet but I now know I CAN!

I started my exercise program in October 2012. For two months I saw and felt no improvement and felt defeated. I had a free workout with one of the trainers so I took advantage of it. Boy, was I the luckiest person in the world when I landed Keri as the trainer. I wasn’t ½ way through my free workout when I asked Keri if I could hire her! In three months Keri helped me change my eating habits, taught me to work cardio and muscle simultaneously and taught me to work more efficiently – instead of my long drawn out workouts I used to do, I now complete a top notch workout in 30 minutes. With Keri’s training and education I was successful in losing 16 lbs.; 8 inches overall; and gained my upper body tone back! Best of all I felt better than I had in a long, long time. Keri’s motivation, enthusiasm, and humor compares to no other trainer out there – thanks Keri! I look forward to many more workouts with you!

I had the privilege of working with Keri while she was a trainer at South RAC. This opportunity changed my life. I’ve never been someone who put a lot of effort into exercise or paid much attention to what I ate. I was always thin so never saw a reason for exercise. However, as I got older and had kids, I started trying to exercise and eat healthier but never consistently. I gained weight and finally got tired of being embarrassed by the way I looked and joined a gym. I thought this was the answer, but after a few months I realized that although I had the motivation, I had no idea what I was doing! Finally I was introduced to Keri.

She taught me so much about health and fitness. She showed me that I’m physically capable of way more than I ever thought and that working out can be fun! Seriously!! Keri has also taught me that healthy and yummy can be in the same sentence! Further, she connected me to resources so I could continue to explore all sorts of yummy and healthy food options. My husband is even enjoying some of my creations. Keri taught me that if your patient you will see results, but there are no short cuts. It truly is a life style change. Most importantly Keri taught me not to stress about it! If you fall off the wagon, get back on. As long as you’re moving and pushing yourself it is inevitable, you’re going to see change. Maybe not in your time, but in time. Above all, keep trying and I guarantee you Keri will be right there with you every step of the way!

“Keri is an awesome trainer! She knows her stuff and is dedicated. She is always sharing and always giving 150%. I’ve meet trainers that give the “I care” speech but she means it and is working on helping you make progress 24/7. If you want the support for your fitness goals she is the woman to go to.”
~Sue Gonzalez

“I love working with Keri. She is the perfect balance of cheerleader and drill instructor. I can honestly say that working with her has made me stronger and healthier. She will push you beyond the limits of what you think you can do and cheer you on when you succeed.  I look forward to every session!”
